Cambridge & Walker
The duo that is "Cambridge and Walker" is the result of a mutual interest in traditional songs, especially harmony singing, and tunes, arising from individual performances at Blackfen and Cambridge Folk Clubs.
David (Cambridge) sings and plays guitar/guzouki and has been building a reputation as a singer/guitarist in Cambridge and the surrounding area- his love of the guitar is such that he spends a good deal of his time building them.
Jenna (Walker) sings and plays melodeon/piano accordion and has been singing in Cambridge for many years- she is currently midway through a Masters in Folk Music.
During the festival season of 2016, David and Jenna decided to actually try singing as a duo- they went public in that autumn at Blackfen, Bury and Cambridge folk clubs and the responses of friends and audiences convinced them to carry on. Since then, and through 2017, they have appeared on local radio (Cambridge 105; West Norfolk Radio), played at various folk clubs in East Anglia, headlined at Cambridge Folk Club, White Horse Folk Club (Hertford) and Meadowcroft House Concerts, and played at the City Roots and Speakout events in Cambridge. The summer of 2017 saw “Cambridge and Walker" invited to play at Blackfen Folk Clubs' Folk Day concert in Cambridge, and then at both the Ely and Cambridge Folk Festivals. They already have a number of headline gigs in place for 2018.
